My First Mothers Day

Grandma Jojo came out to play this week. Instead of packing we just wanted to have fun. Packing can be saved for later. It was a nice week this week so we got to play a lot outside. Tuesday we went to Lonas Little Eats. We love this place, especially mom. She even had to take a couple home for the plane and give one to dad to try. They are pretty good. I don't know if I would go three times in one week though! ;). We went to the Botanical Gardens and ran in Tower Grove Park one day. It was so pretty. We then went to Bowen's pediatric appointment where he got his 4 month old shots. So sad, he ended up getting a fever the next day but at least we know the vaccinations are working because of it. He is 38% on weight for a total of 14lbs 10 oz. I was actually really surprised by this! I thought he would be in the 80%. The pediatrician said don't do the cry it out method yet he is still too young and him being on the percentage that he is he probably does get hungry at night. Dang.

Thursday we played it cool and we went to the story time at the library. I love this little free event because they mix songs and reading. I like that it's next to Whole Foods too. And I discovered some really amazing cookies there which will probably be the death of me. We went to the Mother's Day reading event and got to read Are you my mother? by Dr. Seuss. Bowen was eating it up.

We went about our day grocery shopping target shopping Nordstrom rack shopping basically doing all the shopping that Chris does not want to do. We celebrated with some Chimichangas that night which is so good! I am going to miss that place.

Friday I had to work on my Relief Society lesson which was on We Look To Christ. I had Chris get a bunch of glasses with heavy prescriptions and have the women try it on and I related it to the blurriness we may see in life with all the distractions: TV, music, cell phones etc. and how it can distract us but if we take off our "blurry goggles" we are able to Look To Christ in all that we do and follow his commandments. I also really wanted to show a video for mothers day at the end but we did not have enough time! I was so bummed, it's called Kid History Healthy Eating. Hilarious. Also before my lesson I get a text from Chris, come to the bathroom with the bag now. I didn't see it and Tim our neighbor downstairs comes up to me and says is this the backpack? We have an emergency. I was thinking Bowen had the mess but really it was Chris. Bowen's poop all over Chris's white shirt. He ended up getting a sweater from our friend but it was 90 degrees outside. Oh man, babies am I right?

Saturday we went to the Farmers Market early in the morning and I got myself a succulent plant. I love these plants but have been afraid to get it because I have no idea what to do with it. It needs a downfall of water and then weeks of sunshine and no water. I probably would have killed it if I didn't know this. While we waited for the two hour long pedicure line we went down Grand and went to all these vintage shops. It was kind of fun to try on these dresses that my grandma would have worn! It reminds me on that Thrift Shop song...well nvm not really. We finally got our pedicures that took almost three hour wait and total time. We then of course went to Lonas after and then hiking in Jefferson Barracks. The city destroyed out cute little hike with roads pay paradise and put up a parking lot. . . We finally made it to the trail head but after walking for a little bit in the large dirt roads.

Bowen got a johnny jumper, he is in love. We are in trouble because he is constantly bouncing. Definitely is a busy body and does not like to sit still like his mom.
We had lots of fun this week! School starts up too this next week. I don't know if I am excited or not about it, it has been really nice just hanging out and planning fun things. I am teaching a mommy/ baby yoga class for some women in the ward. It should be fun.

See y'all later. We get to talk to Tanner tonight! Mothers day missionary call!

After taking mom to the airport at 6am I get this
cute little boy in his Mother's Day onesie
Oriental pom poms or something? Oriental something...

A rainy week.

It has been a rainy week here in St. Louis. Of course, this is the time when I have a break from school so instead of going out to enjoy the weather we have had to find lots of fun things to do inside. Last week we went to the YMCA and went swimming with dad! Although it was a lot of work to bring him to the pool it was pretty fun seeing his face in the pool as Chris was lightly touching his belly in the water and lifting him up. I even got to go on the big kid red slide.
Costco to is an event when you take a baby. It is one of the only carts of all grocery stores to somewhat fit a car seat and groceries. Otherwise I have to wear Bowen and my lower back is killing me!
We had a couple of play dates this week with Jude and some church friends. We also met a girl from my parenting class Veronika and Damacia. They have been our buddies for mom and yoga class and this week we went to the mall. It's so funny two mom's and their babies going to the mall on a rainy cold day. Never thought I would do it but hey it is social interaction. Bowen is very social and likes to see other babies. I guess his mom likes to be social too.

Instead of celebrating cinco de mayo we celebrated cinco de quatro to avoid the crowds. We went to our favorite mexican restaurant Chimichangas. I am going to miss this place when we leave STL. I think we go here at least once every two weeks.

Chris and I went on our first date night this week. We went to see Guardians of the Galaxy and left Bowen with one of our Young Women in the ward AJ Tizai. 30 mins into the movie, do you have a suggestion on how to calm him down ;) I didn't see this text right away, so I responded about 30 mins late. Is he asleep? I guess she said Baby Einsteins calmed him down. Don't really want my baby watching TV that young but I guess that is what you pay for! Although we payed good  money $10 an hour plus a homemade meal!

We also had the missionaries over this week. I didn't know one was lactose intolerant. Chris thought that lasagna in the crock pot sounded good so I went and got all the ingredients. I felt so bad! He said he loves PB & J s so we loaded him up with a good sandwich. It makes me miss my brother on his mission, we get to see him on mother's day though!

We also had John and Hang Tran over for dinner. We had some good grilled chicken and potatoes and played NES classic games. Chris is handing over the chief card to Hang. Only one more month until we move to Utah! Wow it is going to go by so fast!!

Just hanging at the YMCA!
