One more week!

One more week until NCLEX! It's finally almost here! If I could redo this whole NCLEX studying I would have signed up to take it earlier. After a month of studying I'm getting a little burned out. I am ready. I have been studying my butt off day after day after day. I'm excited to start my job in Labor and Delivery at BJC! These next couple weeks are going to go by fast...take NCLEX, go to Utah -- Lake Powell, and then I start work right after!

I got a new calling a couple of months ago in my ward as a counselor in the Primary Presidency. We trade off every third week of teaching. I have already taught two Sundays for Sharing Time. There is definitely an art to teaching the kids. Making it entertaining, active, and telling good stories makes for a good time. I shortly learned this after my first lesson :).

The second week of the month,  Tower Grove Park does a Food Truck Friday, where literally hundreds of trucks come through. Kate told Chris and I that Waffle Love was coming to St. Louis so I was super excited to check it out! Although the day before we did do a waffle night with some of our friends. Vanessa and I rode our bikes to Tower Grove in search for some good grub. No luck with Waffle Love but I did get a good Gyro and shared a couple of cupcakes.

It was a rainy week here in St. Louis! I think it rained almost every single day! Maggie doesn't like walking in the rain.. nor does she like to run anymore. I'm so sad. I tried to take her on Saturday and it is very hard to get her to run with you. If she does run she doesn't go very far and she pulls back wanting to go home. Her cute puppy face gets me every time and then I pick her up and run with her. Well that worked for 10 seconds.

Our friends baby turned one this week. Remmy, Rems, Remmington. We watched him eat his first cake and he stuffed his mouth in that thing, he also almost did a body slam on the cake but got his leg instead. I always think it's hilarious when they have that first bit of sugar. Then all of a sudden they just grab more and more...and more and more.

I love going to the farmers market, but it does take a lot more time than just going to the grocery store. It is a lot cheaper than the store but it also gets very crowded, you have to pay with cash, and carry all your produce. I don't know, Trader Joe's still has my heart. Vanessa and I got a few of our favorite flowers peonies at the market. I guess they are only available for a month of the year?

Well one more week for NCLEX & Chris has a couple more day/night calls for the year and then NO CALLS NEXT YEAR! We went to the graduation for the 3rd year residents and he was on call. We totally did one of those eat dinner, say hi, and dash. He went to Cardinal Glennon on the longest night of the year while I walked with one of my nursing friends in Lafayette Square with a free concert going on. It's okay I keep saying that one day it will get better, and it will :)
